RALEIGH, N.C. (September 17, 2010) — blue lotus yoga & movement arts, downtown Raleigh’s urban sanctuary for yoga, spent its Labor Day, well laboring. But it truly was a labor of love.
The studio had recently identified the Women’s Center of Wake County as the beneficiary of its fundraising efforts during its upcoming day of yoga-by-donation, Sunday, September 19.
The center had been devastated when its office was flooded by an August rain, and is in need of supplies and funds to replace damaged items and make repairs. In addition to the fundraising, blue lotus offered its support on project work, which the center gladly accepted.
A willing team of more than a dozen volunteers — students and staff from blue lotus — showed up at the Women’s Center late afternoon on Monday, September 6, to give the reception area and connected hallways and bathrooms a fresh coat of primer and paint. blue lotus provided all paint and necessary supplies, as well.
The day of yoga-by-donation, September 19, will also celebrate the Global Mala Project, held every September, which is National Yoga Month heater thomas pokies. blue lotus yoga-by-donation classes for the day include Flow & Stretch, Partner Yoga, Kids Yoga and more.
A studio dedicated to creating true community and supporting the community in which it thrives, blue lotus is also a Top Dog sponsor of Down By The Tracks IX, an annual fundraiser to benefit the SPCA of Wake County, held from 4:00-7:30 pm, September 19, at The Shops at Seaboard Station in Raleigh.
