Mantra-Pop Returns to blue lotus with Kirtan Artist Robin Renée, March 5

RALEIGH, N.C. (March 2, 2010) — New Jersey native Robin Renée returns to blue lotus for an evening of soulful kirtan following an 11-state, cross-country tour last year. Singing in support of her latest CD,, Renée hit the road again in February 2010. She is pleased to return to blue lotus Friday, March 5 at 7pm.

Kirtan is a call-and-response style of chanting from the Hindu tradition meant to evoke peace, spiritual passion and Universal Love. Robin’s style of kirtan is specifically designed to be accessible to those of any or no particular religious perspective or chanting experience.

“Last year, the chanters at blue lotus were incredibly warm and enthusiastic,” Robin says. “I am really looking forward to another wonderful evening with the blue lotus community.” is a compilation celebrating what Robin Renée does best. The disc features two previously unrecorded live show favorites plus tracks from three acclaimed releases – In Progress, All Six Senses, and her first release dedicated wholly to sacred chant, Live Devotion. With a conceptual and sonic continuity dubbed “Mantra-Pop” by the artist, the compilation brings together alt-folk singer-songwriter sounds with the East-meets-West devotional sounds that arrived in her work after a spiritual awakening experience in 2002.
